Intermediate Level Aims and Objectives
This course is designed to provide you with all of the technical knowledge required to perform an intermediate-level role in the IT industry. You will develop programming language and logic skills with widely utilised languages. Furthermore, you will then progress to become Microsoft certified with the MCTS qualifications in Windows Forms, ASP.NET, Communication Foundations and ADO.NET applications - allowing you to design, develop and manage professional grade applications.
Introduction to Programming
Starting from the basics this module will cover beginning either Visual Basic 2008 or Visual C# 2008 before introducing data storage techniques, such as relational database design and XML, before finishing off with the Unified Modelling Language (UML).

.NET Framework 3.5 Windows Forms Applications
The MCTS certification is part of the new Microsoft certification path utilising the latest Microsoft.NET technology to develop Windows-Based applications.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist:
.NET Framework 3.5 ASP.NET Applications
Continuing down the MCTS certification track this module teaches the rapidly developing arena of Web-Based application development.

.NET Framework 3.5 ADO.NET Applications
Covering database connection security, querying data, modifying data, synchronising data and working with disconnected data.

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist:
.NET Framework 3.5 Windows Communication Foundation Applications
Finishing off the MCTS certification track this module teaches creating, deploying, administering and monitoring the services used in the creation of distributed applications.
